Sariska National Park, Bhangarh Fort, many places of interest around Sariskar including Siliseth lake, Neelkanth and Kesroli Fort
Sariska and Beyond
Explore the area around Sariska, rich in natural beauty, history and monuments
Duration - 2 Days / 1 Night
Tour starts from Jaipur
Sariska National Park, Bhangarh Fort, many places of interest around Sariskar including Siliseth lake, Neelkanth and Kesroli Fort
Day 1:
Driver picks up guests in morning from hotel, airport / railway station / bus stand at Jaipur. After a quick breakfast, we drive to Sariska, with a brief stopover at the presumably haunted, deserted and surprisingly well-preserved ruins of Bhangarh.
Bhangarh was once a thriving town with a fort, palace, temples and a lively bazaar. Established in 1573 by Raja Bhagwant Das, it gradually fell on bad times. The famine of 1783 resulted in the town being totally deserted by its inhabitants.
Well, this is what the history books tell us. The folk lore has a quite different, and dare I say much more interesting version to tell! The legend of this place retraces itself to the beautiful princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh, great granddaughter of Raja Bhagwant Das. A tantric well versed with black arts fell in love with the princess. Once, as the maids of princess were buying perfume for her, he cast a spell on the perfume that would make Ratnavati fall in love with him. She got to know about this and in a fit she threw the bottle out of the window. The bottle struck the tantric, who died, but not before cursing the people of Bhangarh. And the city fell into ruin. Today, empty temples, palace, ruins of a marketplace, numerous houses and a still strong fortification wall manned by monkeys greet the visitor.
After an hour spent here, we drive on towards Sariska. We can arrange lunch for you at a nice resort, where the safari vehicle can also come to pick you up for the jungle safari (lunch and vehicle for jungle safari are payable extra. You can book the vehicle online or ask us to
book for you). Safari vehicle will pick you up around 1:45 pm – 2 pm. You will return by 6 pm.
Spend the night at resort.
Day 2:
We have the option of another jungle safari in the morning.
On return from safari, around 9 am, we have breakfast and then leave for sightseeing around Sariska.
There are many places of interest around Sariska that can be visited. Based on guest choice, we can cover some but unfortunately not all the options possible that include:
Siliserh Lake at the edge of the reserve has crocodiles and water snakes, besides a beautiful palace with a busy restaurant.
Pandupole is a busy pilgrimage. Nonetheless it is quite beautiful with interesting rock structures and a small stream that flows from the rocks to a pool below. You can get a pass to visit Pandupole every Tuesday and Saturday.
Kankwari Fort from 17th century lies inside the park and is located on a hilltop providing panoramic views of the forest surrounding it of the surroundings. To see this fort, a morning ride here in place of the morning safari is suggested.
Neelkanth is a cluster of more than 300 temples, including an imposing statue of Mahavir ji. Now in ruins, they are very evocative and with ancient historical significance.
Recommended add on:
Lunch (payable extra) at the Hill fort of Kesroli. It is a quiet, fort perched on a hillock which has now been turned into a heritage hotel.
After sightseeing we leave back for Jaipur by late afternoon. A three to four-hour journey gets us back to the city of Jaipur where tour ends.

Hadoti Hideaways
Bundi was called as a teardrop on the cheek of time! Discover the charms of the realm of Hada Rajputs
Duration - 2 days, 1 night
Tour starts from Jaipur
Bundi: Garh Palace, Taragarh Fort, Raniji ki baori, Nagar Sagar kund, Dhanai kund, Old city and markets
Kota: City Palace and a boat ride in Chambal can be enjoyed
Day 1:
Our Driver picks up guest from hotel / Jaipur airport / railway dtation / bus stand, pref in morning and we drive to Bundi (appox. 4 hours, 200 kms away). We have the option of having breakfast at Jaipur before leaving.
On arrival, we check into our hotel. After some rest and lunch, we set out to discover the quaint, sleepy, medieval town. There are many things of note here, including palaces, stepwells, temples, winding alleyways, blue washed houses, and havelis.
Brooding over the town, atop a high hill overlooking the town and lake below, sits the Taragarh Fort. We visit the large and pleasing Garh Palace built by Raja Rao Ratan Singh in 17th century. Some of the finest and best-preserved paintings and murals that you can see in Rajasthan, cover walls and ceilings of the Chattra Mahal, Phool mahal and Badal Mahal in the palace. Just below the Hathi pol (Elephant gate) of the palace is the Chitrashala, built between 17th and 18th century with some exquisite murals. Painted mostly in hues of blues and green, the theme of the paintings are birds, hunting escapades, men and women dancing, court scenes, scenes from the Ramayana, a map of Nathdwara temple, Radha Krishna paintings and more.
Rudyard Kipling had said of Bundi, ‘the Palace of Bundi, even in broad daylight, is such a palace as men build for themselves in uneasy dreams - the work of goblins rather than of men’.
You can visit the small mansion on the banks of pleasant and lotus covered Jai Sagar lake where Kipling is supposed to have written his famous novel – Kim.
Bundi is known as the city of stepwells as there are over 50 in the city and surroundings. The notable ones are Rani ji ki baori, Nagar Sagar Kund and Dhabai kund. Ranaji ji ki baori was built as a gift to the public by Rani Nathavati in 1699. 150 feet deep, this multi leveled stepwell
is covered with intricate carvings. Built in 1714, Dhabai kund is shaped as an inverted pyramid and has 700 steps that lead to the base of the well. On returning from the palace, we can look at some of these stepwells.
We suggest taking a walk through the town in evening before returning to hotel.
Day 2:
Bundi / Kota sightseeing and drive back to Jaipur.
We can climb up to Taragarh fort for views over the city in the morning.
After breakfast, we pack our bags and leave for Kota and a thrilling boat ride at Kota on the Chambal River. Accompanied by a knowledgeable naturalist/guide we go down the gorge surrounded by wooded craggy hills. We can see many bird species including elusive vultures, crocodiles and if you are lucky, the rare Gharial. After our river cruise of 1-2 hours, we can look at the City Palace Museum of Kota and the garden of seven wonders. If the hike to Taragarh is not appealing, we can leave early morning for the boat ride at Kota, increasing the chance of seeing birds and water animals.
Another option is to miss going to Kota; choosing instead for a half day tour of Bundi countryside to look at prehistoric rock paintings accompanied by a guide.
We leave for Jaipur by late afternoon, reaching by evening. Tour ends at Jaipur.
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Sedan taxi (1-3 passengers or a family of 2 adults and 2 children) at Rs 6300

Mughal Magic
Witness the magnificence of a flamboyant, powerful dynasty that once ruled large parts of India – the Mughals!
Duration - 2 Days / 1 Night
Tour starts from Jaipur
Agra: Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Itmad-ud-daula,
Fatehpur Sikri, Abhaneri
Optional visit to Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary
Agra was the capital of Mughal Dynasty for three generations! This tour covers many of their biggest and loveliest monuments, a stepwell and a temple that dates much earlier than the Mughals.
This tour is perhaps unique in covering so many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in a matter of two days!
Day 1:
Drive from Jaipur to Agra via Abhaneri and Fatehpur SIkri.
Our driver meets guest at hotel / airport / railway station / bus stand at Jaipur. We leave for Agra, that lies about 4 hours / 230 kms east of Jaipur. On the way, we take a short detour (if we have left early morning) to see world’s biggest stepwell at Abhaneri and 1000-year-old temple adjacent to the stepwell.
After an hour here, we travel onwards to Fatehpur Sikri (the city of Victory). Fatehpur was built by Akbar as the capital of his empire. Like the ruler, the city too merged elements from Hindu as well as Muslim architecture. The site was chosen as Sikri was the residing place of Sheikh Salim Chisti, who was revered by Akbar. The Emperor credited the Sufi saint for the gift of his son, named after the saint, Salim. A grand doorway, Buland Darwaza welcomes guests to the sufi saint’s resting place. Before visiting Sikri, do visit the capital of Fatehpur (both are adjacent). Beware of a crowd of fake guides, beggers, sellers and shopkeepers that make visiting Sikri an adventure.
The abandoned capital is a sight to behold and a world Heritage site, designated by UNESCO.
An hour’s travel from here takes us to Agra. We check into our hotel.
Day 2:
Agra local tour and drive back to Jaipur.
Catch sunrise at the poetry in white marble that is the Taj Mahal. The crowning glory of Mughal architecture.
After breakfast, we travel on to see the other significant Mughal monuments at Agra; the Red Fort and the tomb of Itmad-ud Daullah.
After lunch, we travel back towards Jaipur, reaching by evening, where tour ends.
If time permits, you can ask your driver to show Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra, a little distance from downtown Agra.
If you have an extra day, we will strongly suggest adding a night stay at Bharatpur that is 60 kms from Agra and on the way back to Jaipur.
The protected wetlands of Keoladeo National Park are also a World Heritage Site and a great place to see winter migratory birds. The available mode of conveyance in the park, a rickshaw ride, takes about 4 hours to complete. Mornings are the best time. There are a few nice hotels near the park entry, and we can always help you book a suitable place.
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Sedan taxi (1-3 passengers or a family of 2 adults and 2 children) at Rs 7500
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Innova taxi (up to 6 passengers) at Rs 9800
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Tempo Traveller (up to 12 passengers) at Rs 14000
Guest can choose to book the tour with or without accommodation.

The Blue Lotus: Pushkar and The Invincible hill: Ajeya Meru
Timeless, religious India with its deep syncretic beliefs lives on in these two holy towns
Duration - 2 Days / 1 Night
Tour starts from Jaipur
Ajmer: Ana Sagar Lake, Dargah and the beautiful ruins of Adhai Din ka Jhopra
Pushkar: Pushkar Lake, Bathing ghats, Markets and Temples, Rose farm and orchards, Brahma Temple and Saraswati Temple
Optional visit to Tilonia
Pushkar is an oasis town, and among one of the oldest pilgrimage towns of North India. The name means Blue Lotus. Rare, precious and worthy of reverence!
Ajmer, or Ajeya Meru (as it was known many centuries ago) was the capital of the proud and brave Prithvi Raj Chauhan. His fort still stands guard over the town. Being the heart of Rajputana, Ajmer was always coveted by any power that wanted to control this region. Ajmer
went on to become the resting place for Moinuddin Chishti, a much-revered Sufi saint, mystic and philosopher. He was one of the first Muslim religious leaders to allow the use of music in the devotion to God. Born in Persia, he is more popular, among followers of all religions, as Kwaja Garib Nawaz.
Day 1:
Drive to Pushkar from Jaipur.
Driver meets guest at hotel / railway station / airport / bus stnd at Jaipur. We drive on to Ajmer.
Ajmer is 130 kms or 2 hours from Jaipur. We visit the shrine of Garib Nawaz, as well as the beautiful ruins of Adhai Din ka Jhopra that are close by.
A stop over at the banks of beautiful Ana Sagar lake, and then a drive through mountain pass of Nag Parbat (Snake mountain) to the holy town of Pushkar!
Built around the holy lake, Pushkar is revered by Hindus and Sikhs alike. This oasis town is a great pilgrimage centre with a famous temple dedicated to Lord Brahma (the God of creation, Lord Brahma is one of the holy trinity in Hindu religious belief). However, unlike Lord Vishnu and Shiva, there are very few temples where Lord Brahma is worshipped. Pushkar is perhaps the most well-known. Why this is so, is an interesting story from the hoary past. Do find out why!
Relax and soak the atmosphere of this scenic town. Walk around the town with colorful markets, many temples, multitudes of cows, holy men, ascetics, tourists, soothsayers, and such like! You can end the day with a camel ride on the dunes around Pushkar as the Sun sets on this holy land (payable extra, advance booking is preferred, so do let us know before the tour starts).
Day 2:
Ajmer and drive back to Jaipur
A morning hike up to Savitri temple (or cable car ride -ticket cost extra) to catch breathtaking views over Pushkar is quite a nice way to start your day.
On coming back and post breakfast, spend some time in the colorful bazaars before starting back towards Jaipur.
On the journey back, we suggest a short stop over at Tilonia to visit Barefoot College (prior information required to visit the premises. A guided tour including lunch and payable extra is recommended). Barefoot College is world famous today for its innovative, empowering, and ground-breaking work impacting village communities. Pay a visit, it will inspire and educate!
We leave Tilonia and travel on to Jaipur, reaching by evening, where tour ends.
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Sedan taxi (1-3 passengers or a family of 2 adults and 2 children) at Rs 6300
2 Days / 1 Night tour by Innova taxi (up to 6 passengers) at Rs 8400

*Extra hours can be added by paying Rs 175 per hour for Sedan taxi and Rs 250 per hour for Innova taxi The cost excludes Tilonia

Tour starts from Jaipur
Ranthambore Fort and National Park
Optional visit to Hathi Bhata, or Elephant Rock
Ranthambore: Located 4 hours away from Jaipur, Ranthambore National park is situated at the junction of the Aravali and Vindhyan hills. Covering approximately 1334 sq kms, it is a large forest and certainly one with a lot of appeal with its ruins, lakes, forests and a huge banyan tree! The magnificent fort after which the park was named overlooks it from atop a hill. The rocks of these ancient hills themselves are a sight to behold!
Ranthambore has perhaps the highest density of tigers in India. Apart from tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, sambar deer, jackals, jungle cats, sloth bears, chinkara, crocodiles, cobras, Indian porcupines and other large variety of wildlife can be spotted in the park.
Day 1:
Our driver meets you at hotel / airport / railway station / bus stand at Jaipur in the morning. We leave for Sawai Madhopur town that lies close to the forest of Ranthambhore. This 3 – 4 hour journey should get us to Sawai Madhopur latest by 1 pm. Check in at hotel, followed by a quick lunch and some rest would mean we are ready for the jungle safari by 2 pm. A govt. approved open to air bus or jeep, our transport for the safari will meet us at hotel (safari needs to be pre booked. We can help you reserve, or you can book directly online). Safari timings are 2:30 pm – sunset.
Overnight stay at hotel / resort in Sawai Madhopur.
Day 2:
We can opt for a second jungle safari in the morning. Try to get a different route so that you can see another part of the forest today. The timings are 6 am – 9 am.
Safari vehicle will drop you back at hotel. After breakfast, and if the sun is not too hot, your taxi can take you to the foothills of the Ranthambhore Fort. The fort is built atop a hill overlooking the national park. Along with 5 other hill forts from Rajasthan, this fort holds the honor of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A famous temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh lies within the fort. Even today, many people send the first invitation of a wedding in their family here, simply addressed to Lord Ganesha, Ranthambhore! The idol here is famous as Trinetra Ganesh ji as the idol has three eyes. The temple is quite old and much revered.
We return to our hotel for lunch before leaving for Jaipur. On the way back, you can stop at Hathi Bhata, or Elephant Rock. This lovely sculpture is standing in the middle of emptiness and does make for a nice picture. Tour starts from airport / train / bus station Udaipur
Udaipur: City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Old city and market, Saheliyon ki Badi, Sajjangarh Fort Delightful destinations around Udaipur including Eklingji Temple and Haldi Ghati
Day 1:
Take an Overnight train / morning flight to Udaipur. Our driver will meet you at your point of arrival. Shift to hotel by taxi. After some rest we move on to explore the dreamy delights of Udaipur.
Today we visit Pichola lake, Fateh Sagar lake, Saheliyon ki Badi and catch sunset from Sajjangarh, a fortress overlooking the city that lies below. Pichola lake is in the heart of city. Built in 1362, it one of the oldest and the largest lakes in Udaipur. Built in 1698, Fateh Sagar lake is the second biggest manmade lake in Udaipur and lies beside Moti Magri hill. Built by Rana Sangram Singh in the 18 th century, and close to Fateh sagar is the delightful Saheliyon ki Bari (The pleasure garden of friends). The garden complex is dotted with fountains, pavilions, marble sculptures of elephants, birds and more. Sajjangarh Fort, named after Maharana Sajjan Singh, is a hilltop palace built in the year 1884 and offers beautiful panaromic views of the city, lakes and surrounding countryside.
We can enjoy a stirring light and sound show at City Palace Udaipur in the evening.
Day 2:
Morning visit to City Palace and Jagdish Temple. City Palace lies on the east side of Pichola Lake. It exhibits a varied and a rich collection of artefacts such as paintings, sculptures, photographs and more from the medieval period and Europeon era. It also provides spectacular
views of Lake Pichola. Built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh, Jagdish temple is a holy shrine of Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu. This three storey temple is designed in Indo-Aryan architectural style. The exterior surfaces are intricately carved with scenes from Lord Vishnu’s life.
Visit Eklingji and Haldi Ghati post lunch. 20 kms north of Udaipur, Eklingji is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The original temple was built in the 8 th century by Bappa Rawal and was destroyed during invasions by Delhi Sultanate rulers. Rana Kumbha made massive renovations during 15 th century. The temple is known for a striking four faced idol of Lord Shiva, made out of black marble.
Haldi Ghati derives its name from haldi or turmeric in English, because of the yellow colored soil found in the region, and ghati which means valley. Situated 40 kms away from Udaipur, Haldi Ghati was the place where a historic battle was fought in 1576 between Maharana Pratap, ruler
of Udaipur and forces of the Mughal emperor, Akbar. Though the forces of Mewar were no match to the might of an empire, their bravery, valor, and sacrifice has ensured that this battle lives on in the popular imagination of every Indian.

Shekhawati Sojourn
A leisurely discovery of the biggest open-air art gallery of the world!
Duration - 2 Days / 1 Night
Tour starts from - Jaipur
Shekhawati region: Nawalgarh / Mandawa / Fatehpur /Mukungarh / Ramgarh etc.
Shekhawati is a large area situated between Haryana, Jaipur and Bikaner. This semi-arid region is famous for merchants and soldiers. During the British raj, as caravan routes were replaced by ports and big cities like Calcutta and Bombay became the commercial centres for India, the merchants of this area travelled all over the country to set up their shops and businesses. They flourished in their trade and though they had settled in faraway lands, they never forgot their roots.
As the merchant families grew richer, they would construct large mansions and decorate them with exquisite hand painted murals not just on the inside but also outside, in the village of their origin. Mansions will have multiple inner courtyards, going upto seven courtyards for the more important families!
Most of the big business houses of India, like Birlas, Singhanias etc. all come from the semi desert region of Shekhawati. The families no longer live here, but the mansions, schools, temples and stepwells that they made in their homeland stand. Join us to discover the beauty of these residences of a diaspora, and the lovely landscape that surrounds these towns. You will be amazed by the imagination, expertise and sheer flamboyance of hand painted frescos on these havelis. Not for nothing is Shekhawati called as the biggest open-air art gallery in the world!
Day 1:
Driver meets guests in the morning at hotel / Jaipur airport / railway station / bus stand. After an early breakfast we leave for Nawalgarh, 150 kms from Jaipur and a small town founded in 1737 by Thakur Nawal Singh. The Poddar Haveli Museum and Morarka Haveli Museum are of note here, besides many others. Then head to Mandawa, founded in the mid 18th century. A busy bazaar leads to Mandawa fort, now a heritage hotel. Of note here are the Murmuria and Goenka double Haveli, besides others. We travel on to Ramgarh. Ramgarh has possibly the best-preserved character of Shekhawati towns. It has a lovely bazaar and nice havelis. Do stop by at the Ram Gopal Poddar Chattri. We can spend the night at any of these towns, there are nice and characterful hotels, eco-resorts, even restored palaces to choose from!
Day 2:
It is difficult to choose from one town to the other in this region. We suggest you plan your day visiting any, or possibly all, of the towns given here:
Mukundgarh: Built around a temple square and is famous for handicrafts market. The fort is a heritage property. Kanoria haveli, Venugopal ji and Gopinath ji temples aresome fine examples of fresco paintings here.
Dundlod: A quaint town in the heart of Shekhawati with a cluster of forts, havelis, and step wells. The Dundlod fort built in 1750 houses a library and Diwan Khana decorated with portraits, hangings and period furniture.
Parasarampura: It is said to have the oldest and best-preserved fresco paintings. Of note are Shamji Saraf Haveli, Gopinath ji temple and the cenotaph of Maharao Shardul Singh.
Fatehpur: Fatehpur’s frescos are unmatchable and flawlessly combine the Indian and western styles. Of note among many are the havelis for Ganeriwala, Poddar and Choudhari family and a small haveli converted to a hotel and museum by a French lady Nadine La Prince! Fatehpur can be a convenient last stop in the region before traveling on to Jaipur and your hotel, reaching by evening. Tour ends with drop at hotel.
Do not forget to appreciate the beauty of our semi-arid landscape with its rolling sand dunes, farms, scrub forest patches and colorful people. Keep looking out of your window; you are sure to see many peacocks, the odd Nilgai and hopefully a chinkara antelope or two!
Shekhawati is not only havelis and built heritage, you can choose to skip a few towns and add variety to your holiday by opting for: Natural Beauty of grasslands, Black bucks and birds at Tal Chappar or a Pilgrimage of Khatu Shyam ji, Salasar ji

We had such fun with Madhuri, an exceptionally patient and lovely instructor who taught us three really fun dances. Despite the lack of experience we had, we came out of the class laughing and leaving with dance routines to show to our friends and family! Definitely worth it and was for sure a highlight of our trip!
Tanya
Greetings from all of us at Arya Niwas. Thank you for the feedback and for your kind words! It is nice to know that you liked bollywood dance class. I will passon your feedback to our dance instructor. Hope to see you again.
